Darryl Kile struck out ten in seven innings for his 17th win of the season today. He picked it up as St. Louis beat Montreal, 6-to-1.

Kile allowed one run on five hits to win his third straight start.

Jim Edmonds hit a two-run home run in the first and a sacrifice fly to the right-field wall in the fifth. He also flew out to the wall in the fourth.

Will Clark also homered.

The Cards took three of four from Montreal this week, and the National League Central division leaders have now won eight straight series.
