(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa County prosecutors have filed notice that they will seek the death penalty for two of three men charged in the January murder of another man.

Eighteen-year-old Alton Gene White Junior, 24-year-old Shad Christopher Mullins and 23-year-old Deen Ahmed are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Deon Owens.

The 22-year-old Owens was found January First on the side of a road in Tulsa the morning. Police say Owens had been severely beaten, stabbed and burned with a clothes iron. He died January Third.

Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for White and Mullins if the two men are convicted.

Mullins' attorneys have asked that he be tried separately because of mutually antagonistic defenses between the defendants.

Ahmed's attorney says there's not sufficient evidence to support a first-degree murder charge against his client.
