(Okmulgee-AP) -- A recent inspection found the Okmulgee County Jail crawling with cockroaches. And the Department of Health's director of jail inspections is threatening action if the problem isn't fixed.

Director Don Garrison presented his department's findings at a meeting of the Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners this week. Garrison asked county leaders to submit a statement of how they plan to address the violations.

Garrison says he will ask acting Health Department Director Jerry Regier to help get Attorney General Drew Edmondson to intervene if the county officials don't fix the problem.
