TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- University of Tulsa athletic director Judy MacLeod will spend time at home this week recovering from a traffic accident.
MacLeod's doctor told her to rest for at least five days after having her head slammed through her driver's side window on Friday, Tulsa sports information director Don Tomkalski said. "She's extremely sore, quite bruised, but in good spirits," Tomkalski said Monday.
The accident took place around 7 p.m. Friday near the Tulsa campus. Tomkalski said another motorist ran a stoplight, colliding with a car that was then forced into MacLeod's sports utility vehicle.
MacLeod was knocked unconscious, Tomkalski said. She received stitches for a cut on her knee and had pieces of glass removed from the side of her head before being released from the hospital.
Tomkalski said MacLeod was not expected to return to work until later in the week.
