Mason snags big-league recognition

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Former Oklahoma State basketball standout Desmond Mason has been selected as the most valuable player in the Shaw's Pro Summer League. Mason was selected 17th in last month's N-B-A draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. He averaged 18.2 points in the week-long tournament a tU-Mass-Boston to lead the SuperSonics to a 4-and-1 record. Mason was a first-team Big 12 selection and an honorable mention All-American at Oklahoma State last season.
