(McAlester-AP) -- A 38-year-old McAlester woman faces first-degree murder charges in the death of the police chief's brother-in-law. Debra Ann Duckworth is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond. Duckworth is being charged in the death of Troy E. Munholland.

Police found Munholland beaten to death in his living room. The state medical examiner's office says he died of blows to the head.

Assistant police Chief George Scott says Duckworth was considered a prime suspect because of inconsistencies in what she told police and forensic evidence that was sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

Defense attorney Ronnie May says the evidence isn't there and other people should be investigated in the case.
