The search for a new Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools is moving along.
Friday was the deadline to submit applications. More than 40 people across the country applied.
School board member Doug Dodd said the majority of applicants are male, and most come from Oklahoma, Texas and Florida.
The board will meet July 8th to select the five top candidates, who'll come to Tulsa for interviews the week of July 10th.
Dodd says he'll look for a few key things in particular.
"I want to know if the candidate has had experience in dealing with diverse populations - I think that's sort of a foregone conclusion but that's an important part of our school district," says Dodd.
The public will be have the opportunity to meet each candidate at a reception the week of July 10th.
The board hopes to name a new superintendent by August 5th.
