(Salina, Kansas-AP) -- Former University of Oklahoma standout Corey Brewer is playing in basketball's minor leagues waiting for a chance to get to the N-B-A.

He's currently playing for the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs of the United States Basketball League and will likely start at point guard today when his team takes on the Oklahoma Storm. The two teams are meeting in the quarterfinals of the U-S-B-L Postseason Festival at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kansas.

The Miami Heat drafted Brewer in the second round of the 1998 N-B-A draft. But the lockout that followed kept Brewer from signing or even working out with the team.

By the time the lockout ended, he was already playing in the Continental Basketball Association. He attended the Heat's pre-season camp before the 1999-2000 season but was among the team's final cuts.
