Tulsa manufacturer Zebco announced more layoffs Wednesday. Fifty salaried workers will lose their jobs Thursday, because of what Zebco calls further cutbacks to make itself more competitive in the global marketplace.
Zebco's parent, the Brunswick Corporation, plans to immediately sell Zebco and several other of its sporting goods brands which produce fishing and camping equipment.
170 people learned several weeks ago they would be layed off. Those workers officially lost their jobs Tuesday.
Plant officials told The News on Six that the plant will remain open. Zebco president Jeff Pontius added that the company is up for sale.
Most of the jobs lost in recent weeks are being moved to a plant in China.
