(Undated-AP) -- The annual Major League Baseball Draft is not a popular event with one set of people -- college baseball coaches.
Both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State lost top players and prospects on draft day, but coaches at both schools say their 2001 rosters escaped serious damage.
The Sooners recruiting class lost a big name when Weatherford star Colby Miller signed with the Minnesota Twins. The school also lost Yukon outfielder Nathan Dion to Tampa Bay and shortstop Tommy Whiteman to Houston.
O-S-U suffered more immediate damage, losing its top left-handed pitcher Matt Smith to the New York Yankees. They also lost part-time center fielder Ronte Langs, who signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being taken in the 13th round.
