(Rogers-AP) -- Wal-Mart is planning a $10,000,000 expansion at the Rogers Municipal Airport.
The Bentonville-based retailer is building a new apron, hanger and parking spaces for its corporate jet service.
Wal-Mart spokesman John Bisio says the company has 21 Lear jets. Last year, they carried about 22,000 passengers.
Home-office employees often fly to Wal-Mart stores around the world to check on things. The expansion is to be complete by 2005. Wal-Mart accounts for about half of the 48-thousand dollars that the city receives annually in rent at the airport.
Wal-Mart also buys about 2,000,000gallons of fuel at the airport each year. The city gets ten cents per gallon.
