The Tulsa City Council took a look at the new insurance plans for city employees Thursday evening. Many city workers are unhappy about insurance changes that take effect July 1st. Under the old plan, employees who only had themselves covered paid nothing in premiums. The city picked up all costs. But now, workers in the employee only plan will pay about $15 a month. Those with family coverage will see their payments go up $24 a month. Prescription drug coverage is also higher. But city councilors are still discussing ways to lower some prescription costs.
