If you're searching for the ideal lamp/document holder combo for a desktop computer, the new Tensor Computer Lamp comes pretty close.
The light attaches to the top of your monitor with a bracket, mounting on the left or right side. The bracket is affixed to the monitor using peel-off adhesive. The lamp's arm then slips into the bracket. I added more adhesive after the bracket came loose and wouldn't support the weighty lamp.
As for function, the model CL1 comes with an adjustable gooseneck and a shade that rotates 180 degrees. A handy on/off switch is located atop the lamp, and the 13-watt compact fluorescent bulb eliminates glare on the monitor. Documents are held in place by a clip that snaps into mounting holes on the lamp shade.
The compact computer lamp, with a street price of about $25, comes in grape, turquoise and red, and fits all PC monitors except flat screens. Call 1-800- 872-5267 or go to www.tensorlamp.com
