AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn football players Deandre Green and Brandon Reed were charged after a handgun was fired to break up a fight at a fraternity concert.

Green is accused of firing the gun, and Reed is accused of having an unregistered firearm.

The concert Wednesday night was attended by about 300 people. No injuries were reported.

The two players were at Auburn City Jail on Thursday pending bail.

Green and Reed did not belong to the fraternity and were not involved in the fight, said Maj. Melvin Owens of the university's Department of Public Safety. He said the gun was not fired in the direction of anyone.

Green was charged with reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum $1,000 fine and a year in jail. Reed was charged with possession of an unregistered firearm. The misdemeanor carries a maximum $500 fine and six months in jail.

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville declined comment on the arrests Thursday. Auburn Vice President for Administrative Services Jim Ferguson said the school will review weapons policies on campus.

Earlier this month, the wife of Lorenzo Diamond was charged with failing to have a license to carry a gun after accidentally shooting the tight end. Diamond is expected to be back for fall practice.

Green, a 19-year-old freshman receiver, was one of the Tigers' top recruits two years ago. Reed, a 20-year-old sophomore reserve cornerback, played in all 11 games on special teams last season.
