(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma's (57-7) Lisa Carey hammered a pair of home runs to oust Texas (25-25-1) women's softball team from the Big 12 Tournament 11-to-nothing this morning in Oklahoma City.
Carey's home runs included a grand slam in the fourth inning. The game was shortened to five innings based on the mercy rule of an eight-run lead after five innings. It was top-seeded Oklahoma's 17th victory this season based on the mercy rule.
Oklahoma pitcher Lana Moran gave up just two hits in getting the win and improved to 24-and-1, with the Longhorns' Carmen Martinez(8-11) taking the loss.
