(Broken Bow-AP) -- A Broken Bow man has a mission of replenishing Oklahoma with the eastern bluebird.
Eddie Hamilton has gotten the nickname of the Bluebird Man of Broken Bow. That's because of his efforts on behalf of the bluebird including putting up 300 bluebird houses.
Construction cut down the bird house count to 214, and Hamilton makes the 70-mile round trip on his trail bike to check the houses in McCurtain County every week.
But the 64-year-old Hamilton is afraid he may have to stop working with the houses. Hamilton's hip bothers him after so much time on his bike. He's hoping that Boy Scouts or another group will take over the route for him.
