(Washington-AP) -- A federal investigation into whether Israeli spies breached the White House and other U-S government phone
systems has turned up no evidence.

Two officials say the F-B-I hasn't apprehended anyone. One says the investigation is now inactive, saying there were no facts to
support the allegation.

For now, the probe is on hold, "in case something develops."

At the White House, a senior official said the White House had no indication that its phone system was compromised.

A spokesman for the Israeli Embassy calls it an outrageous allegation, adding, "Israel does not spy on the United States."
