(Bartlesville-AP) -- Phillips Petroleum Company announced today that it is dividing its production and operations businesses into units that will be headed by separate management.

The announcement followed Phillips' purchase last week of Arco Alaska.

Kevin Meyers is president and chief executive officer of Arco Alaska Incorporated. Meyers will serve as senior vice president of Phillips and president and chief executive officer of Phillips Alaska.

B-Z Parker is Phillips executive vice president of downstream since 1998. Parker will become executive vice president responsible for worldwide production and operations, with the exception of Alaska.

Phillips said it also is combining downstream and upstream technology and project development.
