JAY, Okla. (AP) -- A tip led Delaware County deputies to a Jay home Wednesday where they found three inmates missing since a big jail break earlier in the week.
Deputies arrested Michael Lone Wolf, Anita James and Contessa Alexander around 3:45 p.m. and returned them to the jail they fled early Monday with six other inmates. They also recovered a loaded rifle that was stolen during the break, officials said.
The search continued for three other inmates, including three-time county jail escapee Cody Willcoxson.
The nine inmates overpowered the jailer around 12:30 a.m. Monday, beating him and locking him in a cell. Three of the nine were captured within an hour.
Willcoxson, 20, is believed to have been the mastermind behind the escape, officials said. Sheriff's Deputy Heath Lynn said Willcoxson had escaped 15 times from juvenile and adult institutions.
