(Claremore-AP) -- Rogers State University officials are optimistic the school will be granted permission to offer four-year bachelor's degrees.

The Claremore college had been a two-year school known as Rogers State College until the university was formed in June 1998.

A North Central Association of Colleges and Schools evaluation team visited Tuesday. The ditation could come this summer.

Pending accreditation, Rogers State will begin offering bachelor's degrees in business information technology, applied technology, liberal arts and social sciences this fall.

The school continues to offer 30 associate degrees or two-year degrees.
