(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A growing number of elderly people means a changing face for the medical profession in Oklahoma.
Edmond physician Brian Levy practices geriatrics, a form of care becoming much more commonplace across Oklahoma, as there are now 600,000 Oklahomans over the age of 60.
Doctor Bob Fraley of Oklahoma City says practicing geriatrics means slowing down and spending more time talking with elderly patients.
Tulsa physician Robert Mahaffey says he's changed his appointment procedures to give more time to older patients. He's even hired an extra nurse to deal with laboratory work and prescription drug refills needed by older patients.
