(Stroud-AP) -- The Sac and Fox Juvenile Detention Center in Stroud is the new home of short-term programs used by the Oklahoma National Guard to reach out to juvenile offenders.
A cooperative agreement between the Guard and the tribe will be signed Friday.
The Guard will lease 36 beds in two areas of the facility to house both the participants in its three to five-day program and its 14-to-21-day program.
The juvenile integration and remediation program involves the Guard and the state Office of Juvenile Affairs.
The goal is to deter future juvenile problems with a structured quasi-military program.
The program teaches critical life skills and offers a positive lifestyle for troubled youths.
