A Tulsa fisherman has found the body of a missing Tulsa woman.
Sandra Ramsey was the sole caretaker for her disabled son she was reported missing several weeks ago now, police are investigating her death as a homicide.
Her friends can't imagine anyone who would want to hurt her.
"She loved animals, she loved taking care of her flowers and working in her yard," says Ramsey's friend.
Police say Sandra Ramsey also took care of her disabled son around the clock. Charlie was injured in a motorcycle accident two years ago. He told us earlier this month, just two days after his mother disappeared that she had never left him before.
"And I'm worried," says Charlie.
Tulsa firefighters recovered Ramsey's body from Lake Yahola near Mohawk Park, shortly after a fisherman spotted it. Investigators say somebody tied a concrete block around her ankles.
"We hope to recover some evidence from the body to determine the cause and manner of death, which will be helpful, in determining motive later," says Sgt. Wayne Allen, Tulsa police.
Kevin Davis knew Ramsey for 25 years and can't believe anyone would do something so cruel to her.
"I didn't know anybody that had anything against her that would do anything that heinous to her," says Davis.
Investigators say neighbors called police on March 1st the day they began investigating her as a missing person.
"They saw her son driving the truck and her neighbors know that he is not supposed to be driving the truck," says Lucky Lamons, Tulsa police. "The son said the last time he saw her mom she was walking across the street to see some neighbors, but the neighbors never saw her come over to the house."
Investigators have searched the house and say they didn't find anything that helps them figure out what happened to her.
"We have no identifiable suspects at this time," says Allen.
As police continue their search for the killer, Sandra Ramsey's son and a friend grieve with others that knew her. Carnations now look over Ramseys house, it's from a neighbor who'll remember her love for flowers and animals. A friend of the family is bringing food over to Charlie and says the Department of Human Services has become Charlie's legal guardian.
