TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A cockpit warning light prompted a Delta jet to return to Tulsa International Airport this morning shortly after takeoff, the airline said.

The Delta Air Lines 727 en route from Tulsa to Salt Lake City had just taken off at 8 a.m. when it reported an engine warning light, Delta spokeswoman Peggy Estes said.

The plane returned safely to the airport with no apparent problems, she said.

The 106 passengers were transferred to other flights.

Airport emergency vehicles were on hand. An airport official said the cockpit light indicated an engine fire, but no fire was apparent upon landing.

On Tuesday, a Delta flight from Little Rock, Ark., to Dallas was diverted to Tulsa after a warning light indicated a possible mechanical problem. That flight also made a safe landing.
