(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Broadcasters testified this morning in a hearing to determine whether cameras will be allowed in the courtroom at the state murder trial of bombing conspirator Terry Nichols.
Court T-V Executive Producer Tim Sullivan told the judge that Nichols' preliminary hearing and state murder trial could be broadcast to the public without disrupting the proceedings.
Sullivan says he believes there would be a huge benefit to the public to see the proceedings happen firsthand. He says there's no significant disruption that he's aware of from the presence of the camera.
Prosecutors and defense attorneys in the Oklahoma City bombing case oppose the request to televise hearings for Nichols, a one-time resident of Herington, Kansas.
Oklahoma City and Tulsa television stations have joined Court T-V in a request to allow a camera in the courtroom during Nichols' preliminary hearing, trial and other court proceedings.
