(Beggs-AP) -- Ten people are homeless as the result of a fire that destroyed four buildings and a mobile home in Beggs.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Someone reported seeing thick, black smoke coming from one of the buildings on Main Street yesterday.
The fire spread to a neighboring mobile home, and then to the other buildings. The building where the fire apparently started was being remodeled into apartments. The other buildings were vacant.
The upstairs of the apartment building was finished, and three people were in the process of moving in. They lost all of their belongings.
The mobile home was occupied by Myron and Renee Boston; their four children, ranging in age from seven months to seven years; and their niece.
Renee Boston says she works nights and was asleep when she was awakened by her four-year-old daughter, who alerted her that the mobile home was on fire.
