(Tulsa-AP) -- A Tulsa dentist won't be practicing for a year after his license was suspended by the state Board of Dentistry. William F- Letcher has agreed to check into an alcohol treatment center in Atlanta. The board found that Letcher suffered from an alcohol dependency that impaired his ability to practice and that he wrote excessive prescriptions for controlled dangerous drugs.
Letcher agreed to admit himself to the Talbot-Marsh Treatment Center in Atlanta. Board documents showed Letcher also distributed and prescribed or administered controlled dangerous substances to his mother onf ive occasions between November 1995 and February 1996 and gave controlled dangerous substances to his daughter in January 1998.
