TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities worked Monday to identify the body of a man found inside a mobile home that was destroyed by fire on the grounds of a Tulsa stable. Fire Capt. Hubert Rouse said fire investigators believe the fire started accidentally, although its cause has not been determined. "The medical examiner has the body, and hopefully we will know some more soon," said Rouse, who also said investigators have some potential names.
A witness called 911 and reported the fire on the grounds of KJM Stables about 11 p.m. Sunday, Rouse said. "When we got there, it was pretty much involved," Rouse said of the fire. Firefighters were told no one lived at the residence, but when firefighters put out the blaze they "located a fatality in there," he said. The body was found in the living room area.
Officer Lucky Lamons said no evidence has indicated that the man's death was suspicious. Police were called in because of the fatality, Lamons said. "The early indications are that this is not going to be a suspicious fire or death," he said. A stable was close to the mobile home, but no horses were injured or were threatened by the fire, Rouse said.
