OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Don't look for former federal informant Carol Howe's story on the big screen from Meg Ryan's production company. The actress who starred in "You've Got Mail" and "City of Angels" said her production company only considered buying Ms. Howe's story and "ultimately decided not to pursue the matter in any way."
Ms. Howe, 28, insists she warned the federal government that she overheard discussions about the Oklahoma City bombing while she was working undercover at Elohim City, a white separatist community in eastern Oklahoma. Ms. Howe's claims have kept alive theories that Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols had help in the bombing.
McVeigh was sentenced to death for the April 19, 1995, bombing that killed 168 people and injured more than 500 others. Nichols was sentenced to life in prison for conspiracy and involuntary manslaughter.
Bombing victims were upset because of reports that Ms. Ryan's Prufrock Pictures paid the Tulsa woman $500,000 for her ‘life story' about making a movie on Ms. Howe and had paid her a large sum of money.
