OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Attorney General's Office was notified Tuesday that the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver had denied the appeal of Wanda Jean Allen, one of three women on Oklahoma's death row.
Should she be denied at the U.S. Supreme Court, her execution could be scheduled for late this year or early next year, a spokesman said.
The woman was convicted of shooting to death Gloria Jean Leathers after an argument in front of the Village Police Department on Dec. 1, 1988.
Police said the two women lived together for three years and a dispute developed after Ms. Leathers decided to end the relationship.
Ms. Allen previously had been convicted of manslaughter in the shooting death of another woman.
On Monday, the Denver court denied the appeal of Floyd Allen Medlock, convicted of murdering a 7-year-old Yukon girl in 1990.
The girl had been kidnapped and died of a stab wound to the neck. Her body was found in a dumpster behind a shopping center.
