(Clinton-AP) -- American Legion Post 41 veterans are building a wall for heroes brick by brick. It's for those who survived war and those who didn't. It's for those who served on the home front and those who are serving now. And it's a wall for military wives who served in spirit.
The Clinton veterans are hoping the wall will be completed by Memorial Day. The wall is being built through private donations of brick sales. It will be at the Clinton Cemetery.
Veteran Virgil Thomas says most of the walls he's seen are for veterans who have been killed overseas. He says they thought it would be nice to create a wall for those who served and are serving now. Thomas says they think it's important that people be recognized for service to their country. The veterans have sold 117 bricks so far
