MCALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- A 17-year-old Krebs boy was arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun at students outside a McAlester school, authorities said.
The teen, whose name was not released because of his age, was taken into custody Wednesday after Key Academy Principal Randall Peters notified police that a gun had been pointed from a car about 2:16 p.m.
The gun apparently had been flashed at another car containing Key Academy students, Peters said.
McAlester Police Detective Larry Butler said the car in which the gun was seen was spotted at a McAlester pawn shop shortly after the call, and three males were arrested. An unloaded handgun and four clips were recovered from the car.
Krebs Police Chief Bill Ward later identified the gun as one of five stolen in a Dec. 9 burglary of Krebs City Hall and the police station.
Officers also recovered a sawed-off shotgun taken from the police station evidence in an apartment on Wednesday, Ward said. Two rifles and another gun are still missing.
An investigation into possible gun complaints at the school is continuing, officials said.
