PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A suburban Pittsburgh chapter of the Ku Klux Klan is disbanding due to what its leader called a lack of interest. The announcement from Mike Maiolo, the self-described Imperial Wizard of the two-year-old Union Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, came a week after the white supremacy group canceled a rally planned in Pittsburgh.

Maiolo said he received little response when he issued a call for members of the Mount Oliver-based group to rally with him. "I asked for all members to contact me with their intentions concerning making it to the rally and the response was very, very poor," he said in a letter this week to former followers.
