(Edmond-AP) -- A much-debated merger between two Edmond churches has been called off. Pastors cited irreconcilable differences in philosophy between Henderson Hills Baptist Church and the nondenominational MetroChurch.
The merger talks have broken off and won't be resumed. Elders of the two churches concluded there are too many issues that cannot be resolved in the minds of the membership of the two churches. Church officials say the leadership of the two churches agree that they will remain good friends and work toward common goals. MetroChurch pastor Jim Hylton says he's disappointed. Hylton says the process was a learning experience for all concerned.
