One of two University of Oklahoma finalists was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship Saturday during a ceremony in Houston.
Jason Sanders, a 21-year-old biochemistry major from Tulsa, was the 26th OU student to be named a Rhodes Scholar.
The Rhodes Scholarship is part of a 97-year-old program that brings students from all over the world to study in Oxford,England. Sanders will leave in October with his wife, Tammy. Sanders will study literature for two years.
Sanders competed against 15 other candidates including fellow OU student Anne Lipe.
