A group critical of get-tough drug policies has voiced its views in a protest of Governor Keating's summit on methamphetamine.
Picketers from the Drug Policy Forum of Oklahoma protested the summit today.
Michael Pearson is the group coordinator. Pearson says the police have done their job over the years, with record seizures, arrests and incarcerations.
But Pearson adds the criminal justice system doesn't discourage drug use.
Keating's summit explored what could be done to head off what some officials consider a methamphetamine epidemic.
The 150 people who gathered at the summit at the Governor's Mansion included many from law enforcement.
Recommendations included requiring people convicted of serious drug offenses to serve more prison time.
