(San Juan Capistrano, California-AP) -- Public interest in the murder of O.J. Simpson's ex-wife may be dwindling -- and so apparently is the charitable fund named for her.
The Los Angeles Times reports the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation is seeing its shrinking resources eaten up by salaries and office expenses. The paper reports that tax records show the organization has raised about 147-thousand dollars in the past two years but has spent more than 174-thousand dollars on salaries and rent in that same time.
The foundation raised about 800-thousand dollars in its first five years. It was set up in 1994 to help battered women.
The L-A Times also says the foundation has donated to charity about 36 percent of what it takes in -- far less than the industry average of 60 percent.
