(Tulsa-AP) -- Expo Square officials are considering ways to regulate additional entertainment at gun shows at the fairgrounds in Tulsa.
Gun show promoters have recently been including seminars and speeches. One of the most notable speeches was given last February when government critics Randy Weaver and Bo Gritz spoke at a gun show.
The concerns came to light yesterday during a meeting of the Tulsa County Public Facilities Authority. Officials were discussing a policy on the number of gun shows held each year at Expo Square.
Warren Metcalf is a gun show promoter who was at yesterday's meeting. He says he doesn't feature speeches at his gun shows because speakers bring more negative publicity to the industry. But he says he believes regulating the speeches would be a First Amendment problem.
