TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- An Oct. 25 preliminary hearing is scheduled for a Las Vegas woman charged with killing her husband 19 years ago.
Patsy Barbour, 67, made her initial appearance in Tulsa County District Court on Wednesday and was released on a $100,000 cash bond.
Ms. Barbour is charged with killing Andrew McGregor Barbour Jr., 57, in 1980. He was shot once in the head at the couple's condominium.
"Patsy maintains her innocence" and insists that "she had nothing to do with it," defense attorney Paul Brunton of Tulsa said.
Ms. Barbour is allowed to return to her Nevada home to await her next Tulsa court date, said Brunton's co-counsel, Kent Hudson.
Barbour, also known as Patsy Woofter and Patsy Hardesty, was charged July 23 and arrested in Las Vegas three days later.
She was released on $100,000 bail in Nevada on July 28. She arranged to appear in a Tulsa County courtroom this week to respond to the first-degree murder charge.
Ms. Barbour, who used a wheelchair during her courtroom appearance, has "real serious health problems," Brunton said. She has had a kidney removed and has undergone numerous surgeries, he indicated.
Assistant District Attorney Mark Collier said $100,000 bail was a "fair amount," especially since it took 19 years to charge Ms. Barbour.
Tulsa police said new interviews and a new analysis of the evidence led them to Ms. Barbour, the only other person home when her husband was killed.
