A bit of Disney magic touched Green Country Saturday. Mickey Mouse and his friends packed the house in Bartlesville for the big event. Kane Elementary beat out more than 100,000 towns to bring Mickey's hometown parade to Bartlesville. According to most of those who waited hours for the event it was worth every minute. "I think holding down a spot all night was an advantage," says Mike Peters, Tulsa. A couple hundred parade goers stayed up all night, without tents, to gain that front row advantage. The cheering started when the Kane Elementary students headed toward their special seats in the front row. Many called the contest winners heroes. "This is the first time anybody will see these floats, designed and created and dressed up like they are today," says Disney spokeswoman Carla Punsalan. The colorful floats featuring disney's familiar characters will only go to four towns in America this year and with the parade only lasting 35 minutes there was plenty of time left in the day for the kids and parents to take a nap.
