MIAMI, Okla. (AP) -- A Commerce teenager has been charged with kidnapping two girls and raping one of them.

Charges were filed against 16-year-old Angel Alejandro in Ottawa County.

He could be tried as a youthful offender. If convicted he would begin his sentence in a juvenile facility before being transferred into an Oklahoma prison to complete his term as an adult.

Alejandro is one six teens accused of kidnapping two girls and raping one of them in February.

A court hearing to certify Alejandro as a youthful offender is expected to be scheduled within the next few days.

At that hearing a judge will decide whether he should be tried as a juvenile or as a youthful offender.

In all, Alejandro faces one count of first-degree rape, two counts of kidnapping and two misdemeanor counts of assault and battery.

Commerce Police Chief Bob Baine says Alejandro is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
