Creek County officials dedicated Sapulpa's new "Creek County Justice Center" Friday afternoon.

The $9-million facility was paid for using money from a one cent sales tax voters passed back in 2001.

The new jail has state-of-the-art security system and a high-efficiency heating and cooling system, but the Sheriff Steve Toliver says the best part is all the extra room. â€œWe just ran out of space and it was just time to build a new jail, instead of having to let a lot of criminals go like we were having to do."

The new county jail will be operated as a department of the Creek County Sheriff's Office.
