A dollar could soon get you from one end of Bixby to the other faster, but that's not the only toll some Bixby residents will have to pay.

A new privately owned toll bridge would connect 121st and Yale Avenue to 131st and Yale Place, cutting right through Tom Snider's property. Snider not only lives there but works there training horses. He says that's all being threatened in the name of progress.

Government and business leaders say the new toll bridge would bring new homes and businesses to the area. And the tolls would provide long-term income for the county as well as the company who wants to build the bridge. Tom Snider says he doesn't want to sell. “I've got lots of legal backing and a lot of avenues to follow to fight these people and believe me there will be a fight."

Infrastructure Ventures would build the $33-million toll bridge and pay for its maintenance. The toll would be one dollar each way.
