McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- An inmate at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester was found dead Friday morning.

The body of 61-year-old Elvis Humphrey was found in his bed.

Prison spokesman Bob Jameson says Humphrey was pronounced dead about 7 AM by the prison doctor.

Jameson says Humphrey had a history of heart problems and the death is believed to be of natural causes. The body is being sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

Humphrey had been at the center since August 2003 and was serving a 15-year sentence for assault and battery in Oklahoma County.
