Former Oklahoma City mayor among 7 appointed to state lottery commission

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The former mayor of Oklahoma City, last year's teacher of the year and the ex-president of the American Bar Association are the new members of the Oklahoma Education Lottery Commission.

Governor Brad Henry announced that Ron Norick, Muskogee teacher Cindy Ball and Oklahoma City attorney William Paul would serve on the commission.

Henry says he's assembled a bipartisan group of Oklahomans with impeccable credentials, unquestioned integrity and a strong commitment to building a better state.

Norick served as Oklahoma City mayor from 1987 to 1998; Ball was named teacher of the year in 2004 by the state Department of Education, Paul once headed the American Bar Association.

Other members including Tulsa attorney James Orbison, investment company owner George -R- Charleton Junior of Tulsa; former Cameron University vice president Linda Dzialo of Lawton and Stillwater businessman and certified public accountant Thomas -F- Riley.

The chairman of the commission will be chosen by its members.
