TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma's two U-S senators are praising the US-backed Iraqi elections and President Bush's attempt to reform Social Security.
Republican Senators Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn made their observations during a roundtable discussion at a convention of the Oklahoma Press Association.
Inhofe -- a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee -- discussed several trips he's made to Iraq, the most recent just after the country's January 31st election.
The senator says all three of the major factions in Iraq are agreement over the importance of free elections following the rule of Saddam Hussein.
But he warned that additional terrorist attacks are inevitable.
Coburn lauded Bush for putting the issue of Social Security before Congress.
Coburn says he doesn't know what the outcome will be, but is optimistic that policymakers are thinking about long-range problems.
