Police arrest man in stabbing of Chandler woman

CHANDLER, Okla. (AP) _ A man wanted for stabbing and critically injuring a 27-year-old woman has been arrested in Claremore, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Monday.

William James Schoeneke, 30, was arrested Sunday afternoon for the attack on Angel Michelle Schovanec, 27, OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown said.

He was arrested after he showed up at a nursing home and asked for food and shelter.

Schovanec was found in her home with numerous stab wounds. She was hospitalized in critical condition and was expected to survive her wounds.

Brown said it appeared the stabbing followed an argument, but no motive had been determined.
