OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- America West Airlines will begin new nonstop jet service from Oklahoma City to Phoenix and Las Vegas beginning on May 6, 2005, the company announced Tuesday.

America West, based in Phoenix, has flights to 46 destinations in the West as well as Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica.

"We're pleased to offer Oklahoma City customers the unparalleled combination of the only daily nonstop flight to Las Vegas and our everyday low fares and full-service amenities," said Dion Flannery, company vice president.

"Additionally, our flights to Phoenix will give passengers access to dozens of destinations across our extensive route system."

The new service will use a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet 200.
