The search for the bodies of two missing Welch girls won't begin until later this week. Craig County Sheriff Jimmie Sooter says authorities will search in Kansas for the bodies of Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman.

Officials say Alabama inmate Jeremy Jones told investigators that remains of the girls might be found in the Oklahoma-Kansas-Missouri mining district.

Freeman’s parents were also found shot to death and burned in their home the morning the girls' disappeared in 1999.

Records show Jones was arrested in neighboring Ottawa County on complaints of public drunkenness and possession of paraphernalia that same morning.
