FLINT, Mich. (AP) _ Flint Generals right wing Kevin Kerr has surpassed the all-time goal scoring record in minor league professional hockey.
Kerry scored career goal 664 during his team's 5-2 win over the Fort Wayne Komets yesterday.
The previous record was held by Scott Gruhl yesterday.
Kerr scored at the 4:45 mark of the second period as the Generals had a two-man advantage. He was next to Komet goaltender Tyler Masters when he received a pass from Bobby Reynolds and made the shot.
As the puck went in, the Generals players emptied the bench in congratulations.
The game was stopped briefly for United Hockey League vice president Brad Jones to present Kerr with a commemorative plaque.
